I am going to purchase a fox pro this week but i dont know what model to get, i understand the more features the higher the price, but those with the fox pro if you could do it over what model would you get. Do you need al of the extra features the more expensive ones give you? or do you find your self only using certain features givin on the lower priced models. Any help is appreciated
By the way the two i think im in between is the foxpro firestorm and the foxpro fury

I bought the Spitfire a couple years ago and I like it but I wish I had bought the next one up which is the Wildfire or Hellfire. The models above the Spitfire come with Foxbang, more sounds and sound capacity, and some other features. Foxbang, if you haven't read about it, allows you to preprogram a sound that automatically plays when the gun goes off. So you can set it to Lightning Jack or something and shoot a coyote, then the sound immediately switches to your Foxbang sound like Pup Distress and will often call in a double. I'm planning on buying the Hellfire before next fall because it is supposed to be much louder and holds 200 sounds.

The Wildfire replaced the Spitfire. The Wildfire is now Foxpro's $199 "base model" and it comes with Fox Bang.

I've had a Spitfire for several years, added some squealin' pig sounds and just last week sprung for a FoxJack2. It's a good rig for what I need, but if I did a lot more calling I'd probably move up to an upper model-

I use the Wildfire. It has Foxbang but I have never set it up. Holds lots of calls and the best thing about Foxpros besides being made in America is the ability to add your own calls in MP3 format. The speaker seems a little weak to me but in windy conditions, I just plug in a little auxiliary speaker.

I have the Spitfire as well. I probably should have bought a higher level one but I will say it works pretty well. I've called in some cats, yotes and coons with it and I don't hunt (predators) all that often. The only complaint I have is the volume and battery life. I ended up making up a pig tail and duct taping a 6 volt feeder battery to it and solved that issue. It will run for hours on this battery and I can go out all day Saturday, Saturday night and Sunday morning and never notice a difference in performance. A quick recharge after I get home and it's ready to go again. The volume is not very loud until you top out at the 5 level and there is a big jump between the 4 & 5 volume levels.

That's true about the volume. Definetely a big jump between 4&5. The other models have a wider range of volume control too so thats another plus.

Hard to justify the cost of the higher end models when you only use it a few times/year.

I think it depends on how serious you are about calling. If you only go 4 or 5 times a year, the wildfire will be fine. But if you are like most people, you will be addicted and end up going more and more. Also consider the new decoy addition for the calls. They are very compact and attach directly to the call. Either way, I think you will like whatever you choose.

I've got the Spitfire. It has worked well for my purposes. I use some mouth calls also. I'm sure the higher end models offer much more, but I'm OK with what I have...

I have the Wildfire and the Prairie Blaster 2.
The Wildfire is pretty good and handy carry around. I have used mine 25-30 times without changing out the batteries. I am not a fan of the remote on the Wildfire, it does not seem to have a range greater than 85 yards and sometimes does not interact with the speaker unit at all. Battery is also not that great on the on the remote, i seam to have to change it out just about every time.
The Prairie Blaster 2 is freaking awesome, loud and, the decoy on the top is pretty handy. The Prairie Blaster 2 does chew through batteries I had to change mine out after 5 uses, those were the batteries that came with it and it was a demo unit so this might change. The remote on the Prairie Blaster is amazing, with my laser range finder I can measure 545 yards with interaction. Battery life on the remote is also very good.

Hi guys,
I have used a variety of FoxPro's over the years starting with an FX3. Right now I have a Fury and a SnowCrowPro II. All have been extremely reliable and effective ecallers.
Prior to buying my first FoxPro several years ago I used some other brands that would not consistently work or call at sufficient volume for crows. FoxPro has never let me down afield.
I recommend rechargable batteries, such as the new Sanyo Eneloops, and a "smart" charger like the MAHA for best performance.
The Fury is very versatile. You will also find a ready market to sell your FoxPro if and when you want to upgrade to another model. I have an eye on their new Shockwave!
Regards,

I have the wildfire, started calling this last fall, had good luck with it, the foxbang works great, like others have stated, the distance that the remote will interact is not far enough, and unless it is dead calm, it's not quite loud enough for me, and just like someone else said, I started out thinking I would call a few times a year, but am now addicted! wishing I would have spent a couple hundred more and purchased an "upper level" model, the foxjack decoy is a must! it has been a good "entry level" caller, but I have definetely "outgrown" it, but will stick with Foxpro always...

Wildfire owner here (now). I've owned several over the past 7 or 8 years, and I've come to realize the Wildfire is about all I need since I don't do much predator hunting. I bought this one the first week of turkey season this year because a friend from Florida was coming and wanted to hunt some yotes. It did have a turkey call on it and I hit it a couple of times while hunting and man, the turkey went frigging crazy and came charging in looking for that excited hen.

I own 3 FoxPro calls right now. The shockwave is by far the best. It has all the features of all the other FoxPro calls plus . One cool thing about the shortwave is the ability to swing the speakers toward the area you are trying to call to. You can also mix 2 sounds together like coyote fight and lightning Jack. It sounds pretty cool and realistic. The remote is off the chain and allows you to operate it with 1 hand. Highly recommend this product.

I bought my first foxpro, the shockwave a couple months ago to use out at the deer lease. I am very pleased with the variety of sounds and multiple options on it. I also like the fact that you can turn the speakers on it for a more specific direction of sound. This combined with foxmotion (which alters the sound from one speaker to the other)sounds incredible. I combine the call with the mojo critter which i already had and this is my setup. I bought the foxpro rechargabe batteries for it and they seem to be doing a much better job than regular batteries did. Get Ready, It is addicting! Next thing you know you will be calling crows, raccoons, and testing out all the sounds possible.
The ONLY complaint I have is that you cant plug an ipod or iphone to it for a regular audio speaker system as allowed with other calling systems (PRIMOS). This is a very minor complaint and in no way along the lines of hunting lol.
