My wife and I are planning a trip for our 31st anniversary and want to start out around Winnie and then go south to Galveston and so on. Looking @ about 5 days. We know of things to do and see around Galveston but don't know much about north of there. We really would like to find some good crawfish and other good food and check out other beaches. Any suggestions.

They got Al T's Cajun on 124 in Winnie just south of I10. Not bad and you can try alligator there.

There is (or was) also a crawfish shack a little farther south on hwy 124, but I think it is seasonal.

Going to be about the end of season but I have heard of some crawfish farms in that area.

The Stingaree Restaurant in Crystal Beach is worth a stop.
