Its 1 day of season and if its for the cause of assisting my brothers in arms than by golly I can miss one day of duck hunting. Everyone of you needs to realize if it wasn't for the soldiers and first responders yalls lives and such would be very different ... probably not in a good way. To my knowledge Nathan is the only one I know with this kind of a program that does anything like this so think of the sacrifices that these veterans and first responders have made and continue to make and sacrifice one measly day of duck season and come show some support. Shoot even if you don't believe in the cause come compete or look at duck hunting stuff. Thanks again Nathan for even thinking about creating a program like this. I do understand and agree. 28 yr first responder here, though I am no hero. Just letting him know the dates since he said he picked it to be during the split. But I also understand why he might want to do it during the split. Many in the business and many hunters might already have prior committments to others, guiding, reservations, deposits, vacation, etc. for those last two weekends of the first season.

I would suggest doing it before the season if you want vendors to show up. Outfitters and guides are still busy doing things during the split. That is going to be most of your booth revenue. It may also be hard to get manufactures there during that time because they are in other states, even though we are in the split.
If you can't lick your own, you can't sit on the dog stand!

Just a thought... But figure out when Bass Pro Shops Grapevine is going to have their Waterfowl Weekend. Should be Oct. 12, 19, or 26th. Coordinate with them and have it on the same Saturday. This should draw more than just guys off these forums. Also, would help some outfitters that are still trying to fill the calender! Also, as far as a contest, you will have some guys like Guggenhiem, Slay, Clay and Kelvin etc. there to help judge... GREAT idea... You aren't going to make everyone happy, and lot's of people are going to have different ideas. And Yes, we'll be there and help out in any capacity needed. Thanks for stepping up to do something like this. J.J.
