What is the best thing to treat your ATV tires with before heading out in the field to prevent flats. Have never done it and wondered what all of you do to keep from getting stuck out in the middle of the field. Any input is appreciated.

Same here, almost everytime I get back I notice where a puncture is because this stuff fills the hole. No flats yet, so I would say its very reliable and I am about to use it in my kids 4 wheeler. I have had it there for around 3 years now.

I slime mine, but some aftermarket tires are a lot thicker and offer more protection

2 atvs and the lawnmower are slimed. Great stuff. You can get it at walmart and true value hardware also.

AT WALLY WORLD THEY HAVE SOME YELLOW STUFF THAT'S A LITTLE CHEAPER THAN SLIME AND IT'S BEEN WORKING FINE.
THE BEST TIRE SEALER I EVER USED WAS EAGLE BRAND CONDENSED MILK (IT ONCE PLUGGED A HOLE AS BIG AS MY THUMB) BUT IF YOU EVER HAVE TO CHANGE A TIRE.... BOY DOES IT STINK!!!

All great stuff. I would also like to add that most ATV's manufacturers recommend 3-7 pounds of pressure. Make sure you don't over inflate.

I've got green slime and probably average 5 or more mesquite thorns in each tire. I'm so sold on it that I've got it in my small lease trailor, wheel barrow, and two wheel dolly.
Some say it will rust out your steel rims, I have no idea.

Slime is water based and will rust out a steel rim in like 10 years. I had some in a tiller and after a decade had to replace the tires and rims. Oil based sealants are hard to find, I use this red stuff my local NAPA dealer had. It seals the puncture and gets solid when exposed to air. Either way the stuff is amazing. You cant go wrong either way.
They make ammo specifically for hunting for a reason!

Slime helps...but as veteran driver of a John Deere Gator in the south Texas brush, I can confirm that south Texas thorns will eventually overwhelm slime!

Thanks for the replies. After being out this weekend realized that I have a leak in the rim so looks like I am replacing the rim now.
