Besides ear plugs, what else do you use for ear protection when hunting dove?
Took me a day for my ears to quit ringing.

I wear the ear muffs. They are perfect since you can take off real fast to talk and hard to lose in the field unlike plugs.

you might consider the small ear buds that are designed to transfer conversation but then hold out shooting noises. They have some fancy expensive electric versions but my ear buds were like 5 from academy and you can easily hold a conversation.

the ear buds don't work as well but its still alot less annoying and easier on the ear drums.

I also can't wear anything that goes into the ear due to wax. One day after a race at TMS, I went completely deaf in one ear due to a plug pushing wax on my drum. I had to rush to the doc to get it cleaned out. I could hardly walk straight.

Best advise is hunt well away from other people. The blast from your gun is never as loud to you than the guy next to you.

Sorry, I was replying to the original post. I told Hopedale to put some plugs in his ears and he disregarded my advice.

Just not used to shooting that much. Thanks for getting me out of the house.
Of course, if you could have used less shells when you shot, I wouldn't have heard BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, so much.

You shouldn't go there. I wish I had gotten a picture of you sleeping with doves flying over your head.

If you want to hear too, Walkers. If you don't want to hear anyone, I have some great Peltor Digital Worktunes Headphones.....fantastic. I have a new paired ordered that are noise suppressing and BlueTooth capable

second vote for Walkers - I have game ears 2 and ITC - like them both.
actually, when you take them out, you feel deaf because you were so used to hearing BETTER than without them
