The .30-30 round was introduced by winchester...so that's why the round is called .30-30win. There are a number of rifles, and some pistols, by several different firearms manufacturers that chamber this round.
It's like .40s&w. The round was introduced by smith and wesson but is chambered by nearly all semi-auto pistol manufacturers. Glock, Springfield, Kahr, Ruger, Sig etc all have a .40cal pistol chambered in .40s&w.

Actually, Winchester named the round 30 WCF for 30 caliber Winchester Center Fire. Marlin started producing rifles in the caliber and did not want their competitions name on the caliber stamping, so they dubbed it the 30-30. Stood for 30 caliber with 30 grains of powder.
It was later dubbed the 30-30 Winchester to give credit to the company that created it.
30 WCF 30-30 30-30 Winchester
All are the same

I am also having a hard time finding 30-30 ammo. Didn't realize so many shoot 30-30's. I was lucky to buy a box from a THF member a few months ago. Next I had to buy a box from my nephew. Let me know how you like the Cor Lokt? I've been using Hornady but will buy whatever I can find and hopefully sooner than later.

I may be stretching it but I'm willing to bet .30-30 puts as much meat on the table every year as other calibers.... .30-06 may be the most popular round out there but I'm pretty confident the ol' .30-30 is nipping on it's heels. That cartridge has been out for ever and anybody I know with more than 3 rifles has a lever action .30-30

By more popular I mean more widely used for hunting.
