On a slightly more serious note; these drones might scare off deer and be hard to hit with a deer rifle. That would be annoying for the deer hunter.
For waterfowl or dove, the drones are inadequate for scaring off birds for very long and, let's face it, good target practice.
I'd much rather see hunter flying their own drones and buzzing PETA people but I don't anyone involved would 'get' the irony of doing that.

"The group says it will not weaponize the drones, but will use them to film potentially illegal hunting activity and turn it over to law enforcement."
Now how the heck will they know if it's legal or not?

Sounds like an obvious case of hunter harassment if they are flying over a field being hunted.

I heard of something like this on the Katy Prairie about 12 years ago. The story went that some bunny hugger was flying a model plane over a goose decoy spread to try and scare geese off. The guide raised up and shot it down. Some time later, a Game Warden showed up and announced on his PA for whoever shot this man's model plane, to bring it to him (the game warden). The guy who told me the story said the guide picked up the plane and went across the field to the road where the Game Warden and the idiot were. He said that after a few minutes, here came the guide with the remote control plane. They asked the guide what the game warden said and he said words to the effect of "there's not a closed season on remote controlled planes nor was there a bag limit. So I can legally hunt it." When they asked him what he was going to do with it, he said "I'm gonna mount it, I've never killed one before."

The Game Warden probably gave the bunny hugger a choice of giving up the plane or getting a citation for hunter harassment.

SERIOUSLY?! Animal rights organization People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) announced plans to launch hunter- and fisher-tracking drone aircraft in American airspace today. The non-armed unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) will supposedly fly over popular fishing spots and wooded areas to make sure hunters comply with local, state, and federal law. PETA, which has an aggressive public relations arm and a history of publicity stunts, recently launched a campaign against the Iditarod. http://www.fastcompany.com/3008011/tech-forecast/petas-new-hunter-hunting-dronesThe hunters in this video shot their drone out of the sky

Same way Nancy Pelosi knows a grip handle on a rifle or shotgun makes it a tactical weapon...cuz it looks scary!! The old joke about "surrounded by idiots" is not funny anymore. We really are infested with them. Just waiting for Hornady to come out with "DroneMax" loads now like the zombie loads they already market...
