Thirty minutes before sun-up and thirty minutes after sun-down. As it is in the supplimentary insert in my license.

Nope. Read the later publication. It says 30 Min before sunrise to SUNSET. And YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR KNOWING WHEN THOSE TIMES ARE! 9-1 6:36a - 7:53p - I got this info off the tp&w website. Its on there!!!

Interesting...Big T is right. It does say "One-half hour before sunrise to sunset". I always thought it was 30 before and 30 minutes after.??. Well, here's a link to a Computation Table. September Calendar

30 before sunrise, right at sunset. Those times are usually in the newspaper or on the weather page of the news site.

Here's a link where you can create a table for the entire hunting season.

Do people who hunt dove their whole lives forget when legal is for dove??? Ends at sunset like it has forever. (Not referring to any newbies here...) Use this site. It shows all towns in Texas and you get a month view. Print and keep it with you. Copy to Excel and email as well. Moon phases too for us varmit hunters. http://sunrisesunset.com/usa/Texas.asp

I might be crazy but I thought it was 30 mins after sunset as well. Pretty sure that was what's been in my head all these years. Whoops, lol. Truth is most times I'm done well before then anyway.
Dear Lord please bullwhip me for saying this but I agree, Marcstar is in the lead. Please nobody use this as a quote!!!

One good indicator is when you see the red muzzle blast from your gun in the evening, it is probably a good time to shut it down for the day...

Hey Greg I have never seen you take your spotlight off your shotgun at night when dove hunting

Or if you have a GPS, it will give you the exact sunrise and sunset time for the very spot your at. I don't wear a watch so I often just set the alarm on the GPS to go off at that time.
Seems like the shooting before/after legal violations is a popular ticket with game wardens on public land and large dove leases. You probably don't want to be hunting very close to someone doing this for fear of getting the blame if a warden is near by.

Hey sniper John Wasn't it you that posted the article on using a compass? If it was you would you mind re-posting it
