Thank you all for the different info on all the guns that everyone uses. I was not trying to start anything. Just wanted to see what guns people like to use. I didn't expect everyone to use the same gun that's why I asked. Thanks to everyone who did In that case 25-06, 257wby or 243... I go through phases

Ruger 270 or Winchester 30-30. Depends where and what I'm hunting. My 17yr old daughter loves her Remington 788 243. She has shot wt's in the panhandle to pigs in the Hill Country.

I use a Savage bolt action .270, yes I said Savage.... and I love it. The End. Solid rifle Curly, do you have the AccuTrigger? Browning medallion a-bolt in .270 for me. I do want to get a .243 though.

I use a 7mm08 in a Ruger M77, tang-safety, 20" barrel. I also use a 300 WinMag in a Weatherby Vanguard S2, stainless. I know it's not necessary for deer, but I enjoy shooting it anyway. I like to take it with me in case a nilgai crosses my path. I also occasionally take my Mosin Nagant (1938) which of course shoots a 7.62x54R. I haven't shot a deer with it yet, but hopefully next season I remember to take it more often. I used to shoot a .270 and I loved it, but I sold it.
If you want some friendly advice, get a haircut and take a bath. You wouldn't get hassled so much.

.270 with 130 gr. for deer, 22.250 with 55gr. For varmints .

If I was to shoot a deer with a gun, it would be my 7 Mag only because of the sentimental value. Doe hunting it would be my .223.

Same in 243 or 270 wsm Kimber Classic Select (yes I prefer wooden guns call me wierd) in Alabama

Have used .308 for years and picked up a .270 five years ago. Love em both and they cover coyotes to elk and work great. Ammo easy to find, well post King Obama...

Used a Winchester Model 70 30-06 for years. Last year I switched to a Remmy 700 25-06 and love it. If I'm focusing on hogs - I'll bring my AK.

Remington 700 BDL .30-06 (because Dad, Grandpa and Uncle all used the same caliber and it works very well)
Also use Remington 788 in 7mm-08. Son shoots Remington 722 in .257 Roberts.
All good Texas deer calibers

The only gun I've ever actually killed a deer with is my Winchester 94 .30-30, but I've added to my arsenal over the last couple of years and my next deer will probably be killed with either my Ruger .300 Win Mag or .30-06, or my Remington 742 .308 or .30-06. If I decide to go "old style" I might use my 8mm Mauser, .303 British, or .30-40 Krag. Let's just say, "I'm ready"
