I would say the second photo was posed. The skull looks bleached & antlers varnished. Antlers would be just as white if up to nature/sun. first pic looks a little more like west texas soil/sand. Neat pics though & I could be wrong.

Ain't no deer like that in Smiley unless he got lost. There are a few of them. Have a guy I know that killed a 160's class buck there around Smiley. The top photo does not look like Smiley Country at all. Second photo is a prop and staged photo. Was it on a taxi's FB page?

Some guys will have the euro done while the wait in line to get the shoulder mount done. That way they can have the euro mount at home. Could have been found dead also like you posted.

After looking at that euro again I am going to agree with being found dead. The colors are to fresh looking and to uniform. Looks like it might have been stained again. The other option could be a really good replica.

Gotcha nothing against euro's I think that is an awesome euro but if it were me im going shoulder mount if I killed it euro if I found it dead. I would spend my last dollar to get a shoulder mount on that buck. Why in the world did they go euro? Unless the deer was found dead I guess. A few of us don't care for shoulder mounts. Supposedly that first pic came out of new mexico, bc there is no brush here that is like that.
