Has anyone ever hunted out in this area? I am looking at a lease out there this weekend. Any thoughts, coments, or concerns I should be aware of? Thanks

I've hunted in Lemon's Gap just south of Buffalo Gap before. Plenty of deer in the area, and it has the potential to produce some big ones.

There are some good areas around Tuscola. Ive seen some very nice deer taken toward Coronado's Camp.
A few friends of mine have leased 1k acres South of Lawn and have not seen a mature buck in person or on camera in 3 years. They have tons of pigs and turkey though.

I've been hunting out there for years. There are plenty of deer and plenty of hunters also.

I paid my money. I'm leasing from a rancher who has had the same group for around 7-10 years. Almost seems to good to be true. Rancher lives on site, he doesn't hunt, no day leasing while we are not there.

Good sized place. Hope it produces for you. Post some pics of the place next time you go out there.

That was our experience on the lease we recently had near Lawn. Not many deer, but a lot of hogs. But ours was a small place and was a pass through...nothing to really hold deer on the property.

I sent you a PM. I used to be on the lease you're talking about. Some really good hunting on that ranch & a great bunch of guys. I left 2 years ago because I bought my own land & my dad left this year to come hunt with me...otherwise we'd definitely both still be on there.
