What do you all recommend for the number of corn feeders for a small property (200 acres)? I've got a buddy who swears running 8 on his 200 acres but wasn't sure if that was too many.

Depends on the deer density and landscape, but 8 on 200 acres seems excessive to me no matter what the density and landscape is.

This ^^^^^^^^^ unless he has a lot of deer/game with 2 feeders per blind location.

As many as you want to keep full. I would have one hunting location with two feeders.

The more feeders the less dominate animals will chase others away.

The mo food the mo betta.

Most people wont complain about having to much food on thier plate. I would think deer are the same way.

We have it split up between areas and not "spots". I have an area of 600 acres to myself and only have 2 feeders, but another guy on our place has 500 acres and 4 feeders. I'd agree with how many feeders you wanna keep fed then have that many.

Depends on your goals and intentions. You only "need" one for every 100-200 acres. You can only hunt one at a time. You may bring in more animals with more but they also have more choices thus may not see a lot of the animals while hunting.

Patience is the key

We got 9 corn feeders on 222 acres. We have 4 stands with 2 feeders each and one feeder at camp. You dont have to feed heavy, just a second or two.

I would say it should depend on how many hunters are going to be on that 200 acres. I only have two, but like to have options to sit that different stands each hunt.

Feed what you will regularly hunt. It s a waste of time to have ten feeders going but you only regularly hunt over one or two a year.

I have 106 acres and will not hunt but two guns on it at a time, and I have to be very careful at that. Will hunt 3-4 bows, if I have that many kids with me. When I'm done, I will have have 3 - 5 blinds to hunt in depending on the wind and most of them will be set up to ambush critters going to and from the feeders... I have two feed stations.

Regardless of acreage, I would have a CORN feeder at each stand location to keep them in the area. However, the flip side on small acreage is that you risk spreading out your deer population with multiple corn feeders throwing at the same time.

Corn provides very little nutritional value to deer and is really just an attractant. If you want to feed deer with supplements (e.g., protein), you probably want to have at least a feed station per 300 acres to do any good for your heard--the more the better.

Been my experioence that when you bust a deer at a feeder/stand, the deer will avoid the feeder/stand for a few days. Unless stand is enclosed gotta factor in wind which can cancel out hunting stands, Feeder/stand on trail to wheat fields is a no brainer. Lot more factors go into determining the right # as mention in post above. Get lay of land and deer trails and use trial and error. Trail cameras will certainly tell you if it a good or bad spot.
