This last duck season I hunted in Stuttgart. My uncle has a res just south of town. Had a great time, killed a few geese this year. My cuz told me that geese won't lite on water like ducks. I was up near Cooper Lake, watched Canadians come in and land on water. So i went to BPS found some floating decoys. I figured what the heck, why not. Has any body tried this? Does it work? They look good on the water.
I crow louder, when I'm far from the nest!

Yes they will light on the water and come into decoys. Hunted them several times on the playas up around the panhandle. We would use a mixture of dekes in the water and dekes on the land. Enjoy and happy hunting....
Spend time with the ones you love. Time is not guaranteed.

Geese will definitely come into water with floating dekes. Some days are better than others (as with fields) depending on whether they want to feed on grain or rest on water. We've had our better hunts around full moons as the geese often stay up feeding the fields at night and come to water to snooze the day away. We often pull ducks with goose dekes too - they mix together in the wild all the time. Happy hunting!

Geese will land on water... They will even light on water... We shoot geese every year landing on water. We use both full bodies on land and floaters. Also, they are called Canada Geese, Canadians live north of the United States! J.J.
