The new pup to start his training. Is it bad that I kind of miss cleaning the carpets after him lol. I will get him back opening day of duck season. Going to hunt with the trainer in Stuttgart and pick up the pup. Ill also get to see him at the grand in April. I can't wait to see what he becomes.

That's a super long time. It depends on your plans for the dog.
Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden. Experience is what you get, when you didn't get what you wanted.

I was told you shouldn't hunt them their first year anyways? So might as well have them trained the whole time.

I was told you shouldn't hunt them their first year anyways? So might as well have them trained the whole time. It depends on what you're going to do with them. If they are going to be hunting dogs, might as well get 'em going. They will only learn more about their job. However, if you are planning to run them in field competitions, then you could run into conflicting issues in their training. Most of ours are for hunting. And most of them hunt at less than a year old.

Yea this dog won't be a trial dog . Maybe the next one idk yet. When i hunt this season I will have a very good dog. I want to say a couple passes at the grand not for sure though. So my dog will probably just watch idk.

I know the trainer. Getting him trained for free. His wife must have a great job... It really is not that long. That's the normal amount of time a dog needs to finish the yard. You will have one jam up dog come duck season. I'm pretty excited for you!!!! Angie
