Anyone have personal experience about what factory ammo performs best for this particular gun. It did not like the winchester super x 140 grain.

I don't smoke ,so I can't say but I highly doubt it. I do know a loud fart works! I think they like the smell plus I guess they think it's a buck grunt.

1:11.75 I think.

For the record,I shoot a 160 gr SGK with Varget through mine with very good/devastating results.

My 9 yr old will be shooting it so I didn't want to go any bigger than 140 grain.

Please realize a particular twist rate means that it will perform the best in a range of bullet weight.

A .308 Win 1:10" will peform best between 165 gr and 180 gr.

A .260 Rem 1:8.5" twist will perform best between 130 and 140 gr.

I have always thought the SST would work in the slow twist barrel

Never had a dog fail me yet.

Only you can modify your trajectory.

Guess I will try the 139 sst and if that doesn't work we will drop down to the 120's.

For factory ammo, I'd get a few different brands and see what shoots best. Don't rule out Corelocks either.

I love Accubonds in my 7mm-08, but don't think they're available anymore in factory ammo.

Yes I have the exact same gun And couldn't get good groups with anything other than the Barns TSX. I never used factory but put many 7mm bullets thru the tube before I used the TSX 120's

Are these the reduced recoil one's? That's the only core lokt one's I can find. I'm also gonna try the 120 TSX's.

we havent had much luck with the 7-08 and accuracy, takes a lot of working on handloads to get them to shoot. 120s were the ticket most of the time or weak loads in the 140s

Mine is a remmy mountain, first and only load it has seen is 140 gr core loct.
Shotts them well and kills stuff where it stood. And no, not managed recoil version.

Patience is the key
