I'm bored and none of my kids want to talk about duck hunting.

Those storms laying there are phenomenal! The closest I have come to killing one, was my buddy shot this one this year on a hunt we where on. My pup made the retrieve on it so that counts for something!

If you'll take your time and really look the drakes over as a flock circles, you'll get one. My buddy that I hunt with from AK comes down and they are his favorite birds. Had a flooded wheat field holding a couple hundred widg and pins last yr. we just looked the flocks over picked the best ones. If nothing good, didn't shoot. Got these one great one and two good ones on one hunt. Settled for the rest of these trash ducks too. On the next hunt he had killed his limit when a flock came in with this great storm in it. Lit the flock and my son smoked him with the 410. My buddy was crushed! Gotta zoom in some

Very impressive! I just don't see enough ducks to be real picky about what I shoot! Looking at those picks gives me lots of hope. What a first duck! What load does he shoot in that 410 for ducks?

He shoots federal 410 3" steel 6 target loads. 3/4 oz. it lookalike your sprinkling pepper around em on the water. Don't discount em though , my 8 yo rolled several of these passing at 30-35 yds. This was his first pintail. It passed and he was skiw getting up, it was a legit 40 yd shot by the time he shot. Hammered dead. My 8 yo has gotten pretty good at picking drakes after watching for a couple yrs. You don't have to be picky but take the time to consciously look from bird to bird in a working flock. We is the drakes on the first swing by their white wing patches then start looking at their heads.

That's good info, I got a 4 year old that's ready to go, he still can't handle a 410 by himself but he gives it his best.

If your asking me, I don't do any taxidermy for hire. Just a hobby. Friends and family keep me busier than I want to be.

Would you do it if someone paid you? You do a really great job on these duck mounts! I just can't. I have more birds to do for myself than I can get done in the next two yrs. have family birds to do that have been in the freezer for 2+ yrs. Thankyou for the offer but taxidermy is a hobby and I'm trying to keep it that way. One more crazy customer in my day work and maybe.......
