Just glad the rest of Texas does not follow along Austin. Lots of other towns do this, not just Austin.

You think they are going to sell them for a 10% mark up or 100%?? Who cares what they do with them they bought them, they are theirs to do with what they want. The people (Police chief, mayor, etc) who Okd the use of police for that farce should be held financially responsible for the waste of taxpayer moneys used to pay the officers or the officers should be made to return the money to the city. There is nothing wrong with the citizenry demanding the people working within the public trust being held fiducially responsible in the way that the spend tax revenues.

I think they are doing a great service compared to the option offered by the APD! Much rather see home owners & responsible citizens armed than not & I feel this is a great way to do it!
You Only Fail If You Never Try!!!

I like it. Just wish I had the finances to get me some of those cheap guns. 110 dollars for a 300 to 500 dollar gun. What a deal.
If I'm not hunting something I must be dead.

Hmmm....didn't see any gang bangers, pants saggers, ect. Seems like most of them were guns that had gone from grandpa to dad to son. Then somehow turned in. So sad to see that.

Dalton...I worked with a guy who's father died. When cleaning out his dad's house he found a safe FULL of pistols, rifles and shotguns. Co-worker called the police to remove all the weapons from the house and "dispose of them safely." The cops got to the giveaway like it was an officer down call. Im sure that those guns were all safely melted! When he told me this I was so stunned he had to help me back up to my feet. Hopefully the men in blue are enjoying his dads 2A legacy.
