A few yrs. ago I got the bug and bought a bunch of knives and gave them as gifts, ect..then setup and made several which was a chore, but fun..since I had some medical issues I slowed down but it can be additive and fun..For hunting and skinning your top blade would prob. do it all and not wear a hole in your pocket..Most of the skinning straight blade knives I made had 3 in or shorter blades..DD

That Buck Vanguard will never let you down. It's a workhorse of a knife.

That Buck Vanguard will never let you down. It's a workhorse of a knife. The first knife I bought as an adult was a Vanguard with the wood handle. Thought it was too pretty for hard use so I later bought the rubber handled one. It was one of the first mass produced knives with a little belly in the blade for skinning. Those knives are 20+ years old. I trade a lot of knives in and out of my pack but that Vanguard stays in it.
I learned long ago you can't reason someone out of something they don't reason themselves into.
