You got it almost right. You now own what became the Perfect Mallard Call. An Olt C-3. If it is three pieces it was made from 1929 to 1946. The Perfect Mallard Call has two pieces that screw together.

That thing is LOUD and raspy. I have 2 D-2 Keyholes(1 cut and 1 untouched), Olt Goose(black rubber) and a Olt Wood Duck call among many others coming later this week. Looking forward to hearing them! I haven't seen a Perfect Mallard that wasn't labeled before...has anyone else?

http://www.dalesdecoyden.com/olts-jan2013.JPGthe second one from last here looks like yours maybe? It looks smaller than the perfect mallard. heres the listing for it: P. S. Olt C-3 Duck. This is the older stuyle, made with three peices, barrel and two moutpiece parts. Hard rubber of course. Call has one small gouge in barrel near mouth pieces, only 3/8" long. Otherwise the call is Exc. These old style C-3 calls are getting scarce. $99 SOLD
