Wrapped up the two knives below and wanted to share some pics as we've been pretty tied up catching up on making requests but this one was FUN!!

Had a humbling request to design and make a knife for the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo - They plan to auction this off as part of their fundraising efforts that help several of the local kiddos so hopefully will find it worth a couple dollars for a good cause. All that to say, it was a blast to work on and looking forward to their feedback.

This is my "M.R. Hunter" design a friend and I drew up earlier in the year as an all around knife (e.d.c.) from Damascus steel. The handle was made using fossilized Mammoth tusk with a Claro walnut bolster and held together with handmade mosaic pins. The lower pic is one recently finished for a taxidermy friend made with fossilized mammoth tooth held by a hidden pining technique. Next on the board is a carbon fiber handled blade so I guess that covers the ancient to the high tech smile (will try to post up an update on how the rodeo auction transpires with pics on my gallery/blog at www.mrknives.com)

just got the good news that HLS&R hosted their committee auction last night and were able to raise $1,600 towards the scholarships with the mammoth knife - honored to be a part!
