The hogs have been moving like crazy the past couple of weeks. Thursday night I trapped 7 and yesterday evening a huge herd came through the neighbors wheat. Popped a big sow out of that bunch. She made 26 for the year and 48 for the season. I'm fixing to hit 50+.

Sounds like your putting a dent in the local population.

You guys are "lucky" to have wild hogs in texas, here in michigan they are very rare. I undertand they devistate crops but yummy too.

Unfortunately, 50+ wont even put a dent in the population. we kill 20+ every year at our lease around Ballinger and we just keep seeing increased numbers. Sure are fun to shoot though. Keep up the good work Revoman.

Any chance you know of any local(Abilene here as well) lease places that don't run an arm and leg, I'm really itching for my 2nd hunt, the first was not exactly successful. Bow or gun, day or night doesn't matter, although I prefer the bow any time of day. So if you do know anything I'd be thankful for a heads up. And good luck getting to 50

Cntry, I have been looking for almost 2 yrs for a decent place that won't make me go broke. Best of luck finding one. There's a few out there if you feel like driving several hours each way. Revoman has a great setup, he lives where he hunts. He just wakes up, throws on his Batman underoo's, steps outside and starts firing. lol

Lets all get together and have a hog adjustment party. Everyone can kick in a few bucks for "cook out" fixin's for afterwards. Since were hoping to move here, it will give my wife and I a chance to meet some folks and see some country side of perspective areas to buy in and maybe provide some fresh meat to Hunters for the Hungry ministry. I don't have a silencer YET, but I did bring my other hog adjustment equipment like camo's, Jeep and modern sporting device(s).

Hey Revoman what type of door do you have on that trap in the picture? Is it just one of those "6" style traps that just has overlapping ends of cattle panel?

Once you've been walleye fishing with someone who knows how to do it right, you'll be addicted. They are some great eatin' fish...one of the best in my opinion.

I'm from Muskegon (west Michigan). I'm in Abilene for now looking for a place to buy. we sold our place in New Mexico.

The best perch comes from the South Haven area. I have seen them run an easy 12 inches. we used to catch them off the piers too using wigglers. Now is a good time to be smelt dipping as I recall, or as soon as the ice starts to come off the lake.

Don't tease me with a good time. I'm always down to have a hog slaying party. Let me know if you want to try and set something up soon.

43 on the year so far. I think they've moved off for a little while, haven't seen any in a week or so.
