Actually I wrote before I actually read the articles for myself. This does not sound like a defeat but just a withdrawal of the bill for now.
A small skirmish has been won but the war goes on.

It would be horribly ironic if the state where the first shots of the revolution were fired over government wanting to confiscate military like firearms were to now ban military like firearms.
