Me and my dad are looking for a small lease or a lease that is looking for 2 members.
I'm 49 and dad is 80. We would prefer something small for just the 2 of us but would consider something bigger that was looking for 2 lease members.
Would consider a year round, seasonal, month or week long lease, not interested in any day hunts.
Place really needs to have a place to stay in, we do not have a trailer. A cabin/house would be ideal.
Would consider Western Louisiana also besides Texas.
I really do not know how many more seasons we have to hunt together; I hope a bunch but would like to find something nice where he can see several deer in a sitting and a good chance at a decent buck.
I could also do add some guided fishing on Toledo Bend Lake for Black bass and/or Crappie.
If you have something or know of a place, please PM me.
Thanks

Be sure to take the time to spend those golden years with your dad, especially hunting!!! I still cherish the last 6-8 years of my dad's life (passed at 87 y/o) when we hunted more together similar to like when I was a kid up into my college days before my young adult life took over all my time. Those times will be priceless later on in your life and it will be a true blessing to him too. It's been alomst 9 years since mine died and I still find myself wanting to pick up the phone to call him with a question or something exciting that happened in my or my kids life ... Good luck on finding a place to lease ... do you have any specific area that you would prefer?

PMK,
Thanks and I can imagine how hard it will be when he does pass. We have been best friend for so long.
I'm open to just about anywhere. Hill Country would be great.

hmmm ... you gave me an idea! That is if the place is still available. One of the guys that works for me is leaving a lease to get on a smaller cheaper place west of Llano and the land owner had another pasture open for 4-6 hunters for a decent price (more of a meat lease than trophy though). I passed on it since most of my friends already are on leases and couldn't come up with that many people interested that I was willing to hunt with (crack pots, drunks, partiers, lazy, etc.) I will check with him on Monday to see if still available. Maybe I can set something up to help a few people here out. Stay tuned ...

Would consider a year round, seasonal, month or week long lease, not interested in any day hunts or point the deer out you can shoot type hunts.
