Dropped by my local Academy last night around 8pm and there were still about ten boxes of .223 ammo still waiting to be sold. This store gets their shipments on Tuesday nights so I'm sure the boxes had been sitting there all day. It wasn't the real expensive ammo either.

Academy and Wal-Mart have both had ammo pretty regularly in my neck of the woods..22 has gone up a few bucks, think I paid $30 for 500 rounds..223 was $32 for 100 rounds. I have gone to the range weekly and have had no problem replacing the ammo I use.

One more note, while ammo has been plentiful, I have yet to run into any AR or AK magazines.

Both Wal-Marts here have nothing but 12ga, 20ga and 410 shotgun shells. All other ammo is completely sold out, every day. I've started going to pawn shops for ammo, and local gun stores. They have it, but it generally isn't cheap!

I hope to score a good deal on an AK, or a few pistols after all this. Some have said that there will be a bunch of people deciding they don't need that gun they so desperately bought in the big crisis. I bet they'll try to sell them for what they bought them for, but then the market will get saturated with a bunch of guns from the same type of person/situation. I hope it happens. I held out through all of this.

Tell academy to stop implementing gun and ammo control and end the limits!

Are you seriously so naive to think Academy is implementing gun and ammo control? How uninformed can you be?!?

They did that so that people couldn't buy tens of thousands of rounds of ammo at a time so that more customers could get a chance at ammo. They have been getting in just as much if not MORE ammo than before. People line up in the morning and buy as much as they can. The store I go to sometimes have 40-50 people lined up at 8 in the morning to buy ammo! I can't believe people think that Academy is trying to keep people from buying ammo.

If my friends need to sell something, I'll just give their phone number to anyone interested in buying it.

That place is such a joke I quit going. Ever time I ask if they have a common caliber they just laugh and say yeah right. So I drive a few more miles to the gun shop and pick up the ammo.

The Academy I go to (35-121 near Costco) is getting worst. Tonight they had NO ammo at all at the front desk. I'm under the impression that it's actually getting worst.

You guys can't go in the evening if you want ammo at Academy. The store here in Lubbock gets trucks on M-W and Friday. Academy has the cheapest prices on ammo and guns right now so it sells super fast. If you truly want ammo then go early in the morning. Ask the people working when they get their shipments in. The ammo still comes in like it does at our store but people are buying it all up. 9mm never lasts past 9-10AM and 22LR is about the same.

You guys are all just going about it the wrong way. Why go in the evening when it's all gone? Just go early in the morning on days the trucks come in and you will be pleasantly surprised.

30-30 availability down in the Burleson area sure isn't getting better. Dry for nearly 2 months now.

Academy in Houston off 59 @ Kirby had 7.62, 5.56, 40, some 45 and Winchester 380Auto. Didn't see any Mags...but didn't look either. 59 @ Gessner Academy had .223, .40 & .45 this afternoon.

I hope some of this trickles down. Nothing in my neck of the woods.
