It was a must on the skeet range but I still lost some hearing due to not enough protection. I wear plugs while hunting.

You guys that don't wear hearing protection ought to just think for a moment what it would be like to have yours ears ring 24 / 7 / 365 / probably forever. I am fifty-two years old and have probably shot a million skeet and or birds with a 12 gauge without protection. I have always worn protection for all pistols and rifles larger than a 22.

I developed Tinnitus in February of this year. I have been to two different ear - nose - throat specialists. The second doctor was at Baylor and was both a Neurologist and an ENT. Both doctors told me that based on what I told them that it is noise induced Tinnitus. The specialist at Baylor has it himself from skeet shooting. I also have significant hearing loss at the higher tones.

I am told that with all the BS supplements that have been prescribed that it may go away. But right now it is really annoying to say the least, particularly at bedtime.

I now wear them for everything bigger than a BB gun.
