Ever heard of a guy by the name of Jack Nabors(safdm44)? He's on this board and makes fine knives a fellow like me can afford. $125 aint bad and the knife looks good! Just wanting to see what you all carry as your hunting knife!

I like fine crafted knives, but don't take any knife into the woods that I would be upset about losing. Too many lost knife horror stories.

These count? grin

Billybob made the Bowie out of some antlers I had. He made 3 other knives, two are hunting knives and one is a skinning knife. Don't have pics loaded but it goes with me all the time.

I really like your knife BMD. I have a few, but this one is my favorite. It was built by Russell at Trimble Custom Knives.

BMD: Great look knife! What's the handle made out of?

txshntr: Those look great! The first one looks mean with the recurve. Do you have your skinning knife handy? I'm looking for one. I use a wally knife for years and it works fine but a nice custom one would rock! I wanted to get one with a gut knife but the maker says it's hard to maintain and sharpen.

beaucfus: Very nice- looks like you had some good use out of it by the looks of the handle?

twinbubba: I like that middle one. Very simple and plain and that's something I wouldn't mind having!

White Falcon: Is that a sharpener you have on the scabbard? Yours is also simple and plain and I like that look as well. I like my fancy knife no doubt but a simple plain knife with a good blade does me good too!

Cool Story on this knife. It used to belong to my Grandfather, circa 1940's. Dad gave it to me as a boy, and it was already WELL used before I got to it. A few years ago, it had a bent spine, was all dinged and ugly, and the sheath was toast. Dad stole the knife from me, andtook it to a friend who makes sheaths and does some knife work as a hobby. This is what I recieved for Christmas a few years back. And yes, it does go to the woods with me.

Don't have the skinning knife handy. Will try to get a pic soon. Think I have a stic here at the house.

I don't care much for the gut hook.

My buddy marvels at my new knife when we are out in the field and takes jabs at me for using such a beautiful knife- eh I use my equipment and I'm sure it will weather nicely to that!

MrChiro, that is a fire stick for making fire. When I made the crossdraw sheath, I added it also.
This is my best knife. German steel,Sologen, I bought in 1959 new for $1.98. I have almost retired it!!

White Falcon, That knife needs to be passed down wink. Sure looks used and beat up- exactly what I do with my equipment. Do you have any rust issues with that knife?

Made by THF member randallss7, I love this knife.

Dad's OLD stag Solingen (Germany)

VERY OLD Marble's Fieldcraft. One of my faves, pitted to heck. Was a gift from one of my best friends years ago, he made the sheath.

tth_40: All great looking knives. The first one looks pretty sweet. How's the balance? What kind of handle is it? Full tang from tip to pommel?

How about the second knife? How balanced is it? I have the same material handle on mine and its a little heavy.

The third one I like best- b/c it's from your BFF and it looks well weathered!!!

Balance is nice. A bit heavy as the blade is pretty thick, polished 1095 HC. Holds a wicked edge. Full length tapered tang. Handle is black/blue G10.

Dad's is balanced pretty well.

My Grandfather actually had three of them. Dad had all three restored as close to original luster as he could and had three custom sheaths made. One for him, one for me, and one for my sister.

Real bad pic!! No rust issues, and knife is about 80%. I'll try to get a better pic!
