Interesting to see the range of comments here.

Keeping an eye on the EcoBoost as a future option. I've heard alot of good, and a little bad. I'm mainly curious on long term reliability as I like to put at least 150k on my trucks. Dual turbos on a gasser scares me just a little.

Got a 2008 Tundra TRD with the 5.7 now, rock star truck but an economy car it ain't. Get around 15 highway, 12 to 13 in town. But the 2.5" lift and those 305/65/18's along with my driving style don't help.

That is exactly what I have. When you all do these lift/level kits make sure you post pictures. I'm curious how they impact your ride and fuel mileage.I like solid black wheels (yes, I did have them remove the fx4 stripe down the door and side if the truck) but don't like the worthless street tires on a 4wd truck.

The dealer I bought mine from had one lifted and it looked real good but I thought it was a little bigger than I would want. I just sold my diesel and bought this to save on fuel and maintenance so figure lifting that high would defeat some of the purpose. smile. I had the BFG KO's on my diesel and hated them. They didn't wear well and were expensive. I think I'll go with a Cooper Zeon next. My past Cooper's have always worn well.

yes, I am a member there with this same screen name (csddarden). It seems it is a dealer to dealer thing whether or not they will warranty it. My level kit is a 2.5" front 1.5" back autospring kit, I read many reviews before going with this one.

On a side note, my harassment of the "ford trucks" facebook page seems to be paying off. I now have ford motor company directly investigating my truck and the issues that I am having. Facebook...who knew. I posted my complaint yesterday and "Trina at FORD" contacted me this morning. She seems pretty gung-ho about getting to the bottom of this.

ok, so here's the deal...

my truck is ready to be picked up. they finally got it to duplicate what was happening. turns out, there is a modification that needs to be done regarding the intercooler, a shield of sorts (this shield is on backborder, they will call me as soon as they get one in). Apparently, when it is very humid or moist/raining outside, my intercooler condenses the fuild/water in the air and this causes the misfire. this is an issue with 2011's and early 2012's (such as mine). this shield should prevent this from happening in the future, and I should have one in a couple weeks, or so I was told. Until then, my truck is fine to drive, and everything is good to go. Just need to be aware of this when it is humid or wet outside, the more throttle you give it, the more air that will be going through the intercooler, and thus, the more moisture.

and Zurich wouldnt warranty my tires this time around. Dang Sewell actually called a Zurich adjuster for this one... Zurich discovered all the mesquite thorns and said "no, this warranty is for ROAD HAZARDS, not OFF ROAD HAZARDS"... bummer

I have a 2012 King Ranch EcoBoost. I traded a 2006 f-250 v10 in it. The Eco Boost has more power and better gas mileage than the F-250 ever did. I'm averaging 19 on the highway, 12.5 with a 4800 lb loaded trailer.
I've put a 2.5" leveling kit on it and am looking at the Heartthrob Catback exhaust system. It will give the ecoboost +38 hp and raise the fuel economy by 2-3mpg. If anyone has this system already let me know.

Bottom line, THIS TRUCK IS AWESOME!

My ecoboost had the "fix" done last week... consisted of brand new intercooler and intercooler air deflector plus a new ECU program... conclusion... I am still having the same problem with misfires and power loss...

Have you told them you still have the problem and what are they going to do about it?

Sorry csddarden. Mine surfaced twice in January and it hasn't done it since they cleared the code. Mine also showed up when I was towing something and with duck season over I don't drag the Ranger around.

My sensor is still on national back order and has yet to come in for my truck though. I can't imagine how pissed I would be if my truck was still acting stupid and not get the part for 2+ months.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Finally talked to ford service. Going back in the shop Monday morning.

On a side note, I sold my bumper to a guy in Houston with essentially my exact truck. He also has these issues, and has already had the "fix" performed on his truck.

However, being a fellow engineer, he opted for his own fix. What he did was, in addition to the air deflector, he made a series of flaps (3 if i remember) that cover the intercooler, but still allow air to flow to the intercooler. Essentially 3-4 large heavy-polycarbonate film "fingers".

I really dont want to do this. I would Ford fix it and not worry about voiding my warranty.

(Camper Shell installed & boat rack in place - haven't run a good mpg check yet)

Got the call today...instead of just sending the sensor they sent an entire intercooler. Sounds like they are going to do the same thing to mine they did to yours Csddarden. I hope I have better results but I haven't had but one other instance since the original back in January???

I'll keep you posted...I plan on towing something afterwards to see if it is fixed.
