Hey, My buddy and I were in Texas last month trapping. This was my first trip to Texas. We were just 15 min west, out side of San Angelo. During our trip we had trapped 3 porcupines. One I kept to some day get mounted. When we returned home I found that the porcupine was not with us, I think it was thrown out by mistake when we were leaving. I had it in a closed plastic bucket frozen. My request- Do you ever come across one that I could purchase? Please PM me if you think you might be able to help out. I posted a few photos of the ones we got. Thank you. Ed . . . .

Those make sweet mounts, my taxidermist (father) is doing one now. Ill see if I can get some pics when he is done. Good luck with finding one if you can.

any taxidermist can find you a porcupine to have mounted. Quite a few taxidermists however do not want to mount them up. We have mounted several including an albino one for another taxidermist up in New Hampshire. Here's a pic of the albino one.

Wait until you trap another one. Having it mounted will mean much more to you than a mount you purchase. It would me anyway, I wouldn't want someone elses kill. Just a thought for consideration.

I kind of agree with SMH. If you trapped three porkies already you shouldn't have any trouble trapping more. There seems to be plenty of them around where you are trapping.

Thanks for the replies. I can’t see me ever getting back to Texas to trap again. I am looking to get the porcupine mounted more as a novelty, not a trophy. Yes, I would have like to get one I caught mounted, but somehow it did not make it back to PA. That’s why I have this request posted. Thanks again guys.

Mike, Do you have any more pictures of porcupines you have done? I shot one with my bow in February, and am trying to figure out what I want done with it.

sorry don't have any other pics. Everybody always wants them in the same pose and we didn't take pics of the same pose over and over on different porkies. You may want to check out some life porcupine pictures and see what pose those critters are in. We can alter a form to just about anything you want but it would be an extra charge. The only other form on the market is the porcupine on all fours walking/standing.
