Before I get started, understand, this is not my property and I'm not a big high fence guy.
My father in law fenced in 370 acres in 2004. He is wanting to introduce doe from another ranch. What kind of deer per acre or acre per deer i guess, can this 370 acres sustain with all the protein pellets, cotton seed , corn and water they want. This place is almost solid south Texas brush in Dimmit County.
I am contacting a wildlife biologist, but want to hear what you guys think.
Thanks

If they have all the food they can eat provided it can hold as many as you can stack in there... look at breeding pens. If you dont want it to be like a 370 acre breeding pen then less.

On a native basis non fenced non fed it will be around a deer to low teens to 20 acres. If feeding you can go heavier for sure how heavy depends on how much you want to feed.

one deer per 10 acres is a good place to start. Feed bill will not be too high and you can grow some big deer. But I am guessing that you are going to want more than 37 total deer. You can have as many deer per acre as you want to feed. We have 1600 acres in Dimmit and keep it between 1 to 5 and 1 to 10, I like it the best when we are 1 to 6.5, see good numbers and good deer.

I eat what I kill, but I don't always kill what I eat.

I am in Stephens County, we run a deer to every 4 acres with all the supplemental feeding, food plots, and water they want. We haven't had any issues and our bucks body weights are over 200, and does are usually 110-140.

I would say 1:5 is a good ratio and see how the habitat handles it.

It all depends on your habitat, mesquite regrowth is not brush
