Went out with a good friend on his farm down in Ellis county. The hogs are doing a number on his winter crops. Saw this boar in a field and shot him at 250 yards with a 6.8 SPC. It's the first thing I have shot with the 6.8 and it dropped him in his tracks! If you look close, there is a tiny black dot just above the hogs left shoulder... That's the entry hole.

Well Done sir. What type of 6.8 ammo were you using?

110 gr Hornady bthp match This is target ammo. You need something that is designed to expand. Pro hunter, sst accubond and such. Thr bthp usually won't expand like you need a hunting bullet to.

Its the only ammo I was able to get my hands on. Im having some trouble finding 6.8 spc on the shelf...and he looked like a target to me.

I use the Hornady 110gr BTHP Match for hunting, it drops them and I've shot several hogs and two bucks with that ammo. Love the 6.8
Nice pig

Hey if it works use it. I was forced to use 110 vmax for the same reason. It took down my buck at 160yds however I wasnt pleased with the performance.
