With the ammo shortage, I'm thinking of buying an air rifle.
Do you know if shooting ranges would allow using their 50 yards range for this?

Most ranges will not care as long as you follow all the safety rules.

We built an air rifle range in our back yard and it has become a place for family and friends to hang out and have a great time. We even keep light stands in the shop so we can set up for night shooting.

If your wanting an air gun then I have one I can sell you pm me for more info on that.. But for a range I saw on American air gunner they got some electrical putty and put it in a box. It stopped the pellets right there. You can buy those gamo pellet boxes with the 4 circles and one square. It's pretty fun. I used a big wood black that was old, it took the pellets just fine, but if you got a new one then I would suggest soaking it in water for 2 or more days then setting outside.

Good air rifles cost what good rifles cost, but the ammo is cheaper, thank goodness.

Gamo hornet and a crosman quest 1000

They're sweet but I don't use them, I like using my 22 better. The only place I used them was to shoot pigeons in urban environments. Get the gamo target with the four circles and one square. I've shot a ton of rounds at that thing with my airguns, and at over 1000fps the thing still stops pellets great.

Out of curiosity, why do you prefer your .22?

Inquiring minds want to know.
