They do reasonably okay, the issue I have had is reproduction. Some females will skip a year, so building my herd has taken time. I originally started with 1.2 and have grown it to 3.5 (awaiting this years crop to start kidding).
Another issue is there are only 2 or 3 other breeders (and they will not sell any live animals).
Like most Ibex, you need to be able to get a hold of them and medicate them at times.

caveman wildlife has some studs and usually has a couple for sale every year. Says he has 2 breeders availible soon and some kids on there website. Im thinking I need some of them, I think they are some beautifull animals.

When I spoke to him, he only had 1.2 and was just getting started. That was what he told me. Their is a guy in Oklahoma who claims to have them, but they are Nubian best I can tell.

Hoof-Hunter, try Billy Blaze in Arkansas pretty sure he has some Pure Alpine, I know he crosses some (Nubian/Alpine) PM me if need contact info, also Larry Head in Arkansas??? www.coldcreekexotics.com???..Nice Alpine Ibex BTW.!

There are not a lot of breeders around, but I have noticed there seems to be more breeding stock available. A few years ago you rarely seen them. Same way with the Siberian ibex, but they are probably even harder to come by.

I just bought 3 ibex from Brian. I do not believe he breeds full blooded alpines.
