I purchased a Browning Stainless Stalker L/H when they first came out, put a good Leupold Scope on it..ran a patch thru the bore and felt like I was ripping a bed sheet..looked in the bbl..and saw strings hanging from the lands..Spent about $1000 and 1 1/2 yrs making it shoot and finally got 1 1/2 in groups..and sold it to a pawn shop in Kerrville..Last Browning Rifle I purchased..and I used to get quite a few of them..Don

Bought a rough rider .22 on a whim. Gun functions well but it isn't a lot of fun to shoot. I can't stand the bisley grips. Lots of other .22 revolver options out there that would have been a better choice for me.
That mistake only cost me $100. could have been worse.
Been happy with my other firearm purchases.

I had a custom Springfield Hi-Cap built for me - and it was awesome. 15+1 rounds of 45 ACP. It had all SVI internals and shot like a dream. The problem was that I shoot lead, and that barrel hated lead after about 50 rounds. It would shoot FMJ all day, but as soon as it had 50 or so rounds of Lead SWCs through it, the chamber gunked up like crazy and would. not. shoot. for. a. damn.
My TRP eats lead all day. I probably could have replaced the barrel on the Hi-Cap, but the whole situation made me frustrated so I decided to get rid of it and replace it with a 9mm or a 22.
Yes - I made sure to tell the buyer when I sold it that it did not like lead!

The Bushmaster XM-15 with 2 Pmags that I paid $3000 for last month.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

A Kimber 84M Classic in .243 Winchester. Handled like rimfire rifle and was gorgeous. Shot 2-1/2 to 3 inch groups no matter what I tried. I don't keep rifles in the safe if they spray like that. I think it may have been the worst rifle I've ever had for accuracy.

Back in my twenties, I bought a sweet Browning Citori in 20 ga with 24" barrels and the straight classic English stock. If there is a sweeter-looking little field gun out there, I haven't seen it.
But I soon learned a couple lessons. I shoot upland game better with longer barrels (say 28") because I have a bad tendency to slow up my swing when I should be following through. And the classic straight stock of the Browning is ergonomically poor for me and I tend to shoot high. So any flushing quail or flying dove had plenty of time to admire my Citori whilst I performed a feat of plain and fancy missing!
A Red Label with 28" barrels, or even the lowly Yildiz, will serve this field gunner quite nicely, thank you.

F.I.E. .22 single action. It was great out to about 10'. At 10.1' all bets were off. My BIL just had to have so he got it.

Man, you've had some bad luck there!! Kinda speaks for it'self. I don't how to take your comment HWY MAN. I occasionally buy rifles to try out, when I find an exceptional one I keep it, the rest get sold. I don't consider it bad luck at all. The OP asked about "gun buy remorse, disappointment in your purchase", the ones on the list were a waste of time & money for me.

Kahr cw40 with NIB crimson trace and accessories. Poured money into whatbi thought would be the perfect concealed carry handgun and holster, but was greatly disappointed. Sold it for probably 60% what I paid...

First handgun I ever bought, Taurus M44 w/6" ported barrel. I could spit groups better than it could shoot.

I've never regretted buying one. I regret the heck out of trading my CZ75 Compact last year though.

I've never regretted buying one. I regret the heck out of trading my CZ75 Compact last year though. SON, Son SON! I thought Me and Paul/Steve taught you better! That was a sweet shooter. My buyer remorse is an Academy 700 ADL Syn in 243 Win. It started out shooting patterns, like a shotgun. Took action from stock and retightened. Took scope and mounts off, locktighted, all good. 50yds 4" groups, 100 yds 6-8" groups. Took it to a Rem warranty repair and they kept it a couple of weeks. Best they could get was 3.5"-4.5". Wrote Remmy a nice letter with 8x10 color glossy pictures. Reply was, Rem does not have a accuracy guaranty and for a hunting rifle 3-4" was suitable. Well, The Remmy stayed their and I took home a New Tikka Whitetail Hunter 243 Win and never looked back.

Too scary for me to sell off a half inch gun to buy a crazy expensive custom unless their was a crazy good guarantee.

Glock 27 was a disappointment, my first .....and last Glock!Just not for me, reliable and good shooter but I tend to climb up the grip, especially in the summer with sweaty hands, and slide bite HURTS. I got to where I would hesitate to pull the trigger, not good when it was my carry gun! Traded even for a compact Witness .40, been my carry gun ever since....

Rossi .243. Not an expensive gun, but none the less it wouldn't eject the spent casing and wasn't very accurate.
