Maybe the WMA office doesn't open till after 8am on Saturdays?
With the above thinking, I guess I'll never worry about a guy catching 65 Sand Bass on Lk Grapevine by himself..... I don't fish, so o well!

With 5 GWs in Tarrant and 4 in Denton county, I don't think you need to sweat that one.

Besides there aren't 65 sandbass in GV lake over 10 inches trout

I could care less how many sand bass you catch. I wouldnt call the game warden for it.

Snitches end up in ditches.

I wish people would keep 65 whites apiece. Bastages taste horrible and eat all my minnows when I'm crappie fishin.

While were on the subject. Keep all them nasty old mud fish too. If a gw stops and asked why you have 65 whites and 200 catfish just tell him your going to eat them. He'll probably let you go since eating them nasty fish would be punishment enough...

That's why we can only kill one...because they eat the gross fish. Trying to dwindle down the populations of sht fish.

Add a truck load of crow and coots with those trash fish and you'll have a feast.

In a lot of situations, the GW is more than not, on the other side of the county, etc...and they will dispatch a Sheriff to the location first, then the GW will go when available. (has happened many times I have seen)

Most counties only have 1 GW to cover the entire county.

911 dispatch will try and get someone there best as possible. (Like Cappy said Operation Game Thief is another number to call)

Sometimes you don't have the phone number for the local GW, thus 911 dispatch can get someone you need. Fire, police, sheriff, GW, etc...

RE-think? They are breaking the law, plain an simple. They are no different than a burglar stealing something.

I personally have the GW personal cell phone numbers in the counties we hunt, so I can call them directly. (and have done several times)

This is all I have to say about this.

J.J.

Breaking the law doesn't constitute an emergency. Speeding is breaking the law, gonna call 911 when you see someone do it? Save the 911 operator for a real emergency.

Also, doesn't matter who he called, he didn't have signal. He planned on going fishing, so I would have went fishing. They didn't kill a person, so it can wait.

Rooster, good going on following up. I would have done the same.

I cant explain it but that place had more ducks on it than I had seen all season, I mean it was crawling with birds...everywhere, and they just kept coming. The ducks landed right in front of them over and over with no dekes. They packed up after 30 or so minutes, shared a "cigarette" and drove off. My son wanted to get all the ducks that had washed up on shore, I said hell no and we got out of there.

I guess if you're going to hunt out of season you may as well hunt over a yellow-brick road...

WOW. Hopefully you were able to talk with the GW and figure out who these people were.

Couldn't agree more. It's just a few ducks. Sounds like the old men had a good shoot!

Great attitude toward the resource and legalities with the season being over. If all hunters were to do the same exact thing after the season, would your attitude be the same?

It was a joke. At the end of the day the 911 operator should be handling life threatening emergencies everytime they pick up the phone. They should not be bothered by game violation.

Sometimes I think people need to keep things in perspective. Do I hope the guys get caught...sure. Do they deserve to serve life in prison??? Prolly not.

For the op to be criticized for how he handled the situation is very stupid. I wouldnt have wasted 10 minutes of my day on that situation. I would have reported it whenever I got a signal.

internet forums would not be fun if it was not for the "ifs" "ands" "buts" and general arguments over moot points

Attention rickym, this is not a troll post, just a good hearted fun type of post
