my 2010 grizzly would not start. it was turning over but would not run. this has happend before and the problem was as simple as changing the spark plug out. tryed that this time and didnt work. I ended up loading it up and taking to a repair shop. picked it up a few days ago and $165 later found out mice in my garage had chewn a bunch of wiring up fixing to get after some mice. Any one else had this issue ? last year at the deerlease i had one crawl down my breather and into the belt box.. i couldnt not figure out what the heck that awful smell was untill my buddy told me to pull my belt box cover off and sure enough there layed the little fella, he'd been spun around pretty good..

yep.. we use to store 5-6 atv's in our barn at the old lease until the mice moved in. Every time you started up, a few would jump out.. They'd make nest inside our atv's with all sorts of junk and eventually chewed all the wiring. I relocated mine asap, but the other guys were less fortunate. One guy ended up having to re wire the entire 4 wheeler. What have i learned? Never store where mice would potentially make a home- barns or garages with any kind of feed... The first time we new we had mice, i started it and thought all the mice were gone until i jumped on and began driving off. One grand daddy made his way out and attached to the inside of my leg while moving at about 15-20 mph.. talk about an embarrasing moment- I screamed like a little girl. (more to that story but i'll leave it at that)

Rats and mice just love to chew on stuff. Havent had any auto trouble, but left the gooseneck trailer we haul our tractor on at the ranch parked under a pole barn and they chewed several of the wires up so the side lights no longer work, the tail lights and breaks are still ok though.
Since we have started leaving those log looking pieces of rat poison on the trailer and we havent had any more trouble, you might give it a try.

Some people place dryer sheets in the nooks and crannies while in storage. I've put some in my hunting trailer (all outside bins and interior cabinets) and it seems to keep the mice out. You have to keep them fresh. I also supplement the outside bins with snap traps.

I had it happen on my Gator It was parked in the barn and the same thing happened to me as to you. I have a tendency to drive it around every couple of days and try to blow the mice out.

that'll do it.. try using those "bait Hotels". Our exterminating company will come out and bait for free with the purchase of one ( i think its $25). So, if you have some one servicing your residence, i'd give them a call and see if they can help you out. Keep the poison out.. if you have mice, 1 or 2 feedings should do it, but if you have the field rats (which you typically get in the winter time) you may have to provide several feedings to kill them off.

Definitely use some sort of mouse bait. They will move out or get poisoned. L

I hopped on my old Big Bear last year and saw the last 12 inches of a snake tail disappear under my seat. I levitated. You think Michael Jordan could get up in the air, but you haven't seen me under snake stress. Give me mice any day.
Not my monkeys, not my circus...

One thing we have used when storing anything with a motor in it was to buy bags or boxes of moth balls and put them in or around the vehicles and as a rule it would keep the mice & rats away. Obviously rat poision would help in the area too. Before I started using moth balls in my cars, atv or snowmobiles I would find air boxes, exhaust pipes filled, etx. with corn or dog food or what ever else I had in the barn, Cheap fix and it works
