Just broke the news to the wife that I am calling in sick and heading to the lease Thursday after I take the little one to school! Cool weather, partly cloudy, and a north wind 5 to 15 is perfect for my setup. Hopefully the deer will mark their calendar for this day as well.

I don't know how things will be down on your place, but over the years, we have always had more deer movement on the 2nd. weekend of season. Good Luck.

I told the wife I was getting up to bowhunt on Friday morning.....since I now have to go to my stepsons playoff game on Saturday. Really ruined my plans of hunting Sat and Sun after the game that was supposed to be on Friday. But I still get three hunts in. I will bow hunt Friday morning, then head to my friends ranch and hunt that afternoon, Sat. morn and then head back to the game. Sunday........I might take the stepson out and I will go with bow again.
Looking to buy or sell Real Estate anywhere? Let me know, I can help. Just email me steven.bradbury@cbdfw.com

I am heading out Thursday morning and will hunt Thursday evening, all day Friday and, if necessary, Saturday morning. I am counting on movement!

Thank goodness for a little cool off. I think that last weekend dehydrated me from all the sweating I was doing. Going to the lease Friday afternoon to make the evening hunt, hunting all day Sat and Sun Morning. I am predicting the rut to be in full swing this weekend so hopefully I will get one.

Sat in the stand from 11:45 to 6:00 pm and didn't see a single deer... I think I heard some bedded deer in the thicket get up when I went to a tree line to dump some corn. Saw a bobcat at about 12:30 but didn't shoot him and a coyote at 5:30 and should have shot him but was hoping for a deer. There was not even a slight breeze and it was hot so not the ideal weather. Saw several groups of ducks at dusks hitting the ponds to roost. Good luck this weekend. I will be at home.
