You can almost buy a stainless Remington SPS in every caliber for the same money. I'll bet most of them will shoot just as good as the Blaser. Unless you just like buying furniture there are simply better choices. It's easy to add nice wook to anything. I have enough rifles. Its not about buying a gun vs. buying many guns. Its about buying "The One" I like the look of high grade wood and would like to purchase a high end rifle in the near future. I got on weatherby's custom shop site and "built" my rifle in .257 wby and it came out to $4100 and some change. I just like the look of the Blaser.....i could care less if it shot at 3/4" or a 1/4". I just want a fancy wood stock, that is semi-custom. with the blaser I can get scrolled side plates and a pistol grip cap that I can pick from a number of them. I wouldn't be opposed to a custom bolt gun from another manufacturer but I think I'll be the same/more dollar wise than i would be just going with the blaser

One of our members at the Gun Club has one and he is from Germany and in the Gun Business and reloading. I don't think he hunts much but loves the rifle..he did get into a shooting match w/one of the other members several yrs. back..however the guy he got into the match with worked at the club and shot every day..an old 6.5 Swed. Mauser..and the Blaser did not shoot the same groups.. It was however at least 1 MOA which is good anywhere..Don

Dale can build a good gun. He did a barrel set back on my competition 260 Rem. After 2600 rounds, and a rechambering, it shot right at 1/3 moa, maybe a little better.

If a rifle is where you wish to put your money then definitely go with the Blaser. Forget these custom shops. You want a fast car that handles well buy a Shelby or Roush, don't go buying a Mustang built in Uncle Joe's Speed Shop in Jersey. Years from now your Blaser will still be going up in value. If you are buying it to impress someone then you are wasting your money, go with a fine English double rifle.

when you buy a custom you buy exactly what you want. 5k for an off the rack rifle is steep. Will blaser make it in the twist you want, lop, barrel length? They might but it would be more than their 5k off the shelf rifle.
