Screw that if its your.property do.whatever you want the way i.was raised if someone is trespassing on.your.land you ask them to leave and if they refuse you shoot. Thats what i beleive in and stand by. I have had poachers here recantly on and.near my ramch in navarro county and i cant wait to catch em.on my property. This! I do not suggest, by any means to shoot someone. Although; its my land. Your TREASPASSING,. On my Property, with a firearm. I catch you. You will be held. Until the GameWarden, County Sheriffs Take you to Jail. Criminal Trespass while carrying a deadly weapon is a Class A misdemeanor. Not something you want to mess around with. Don't detain him. Take a picture of him on your land, follow and take a picture of his license plate. THEN call the sheriff. If he wants to escalate, be ready. The second he points that weapon, it's on. YMMV If he was committing a felony (like burglary) then you could theoretically detain him. Criminal Trespass Statute 30.05 Texas Penal Code 20: Kidnapping (20.03) and Unlawful Restraint (20.02) (learned this stuff in CHL class, useful to know)

The trouble with poachers is they have a gun too. ^this. If I felt in no immediate danger, I would call the GW or LEO.

Wonder if the poachers are reading this forum? Maybe they don't coz if they don't have money to pay lease or have a private property surely no money to pay for internet. Tsk tsk bad people. You'd be surprised sometimes.

My experience with poachers and game warden was sad at best. Called game thief and they asked for their names. Who on earth knows the poachers name? Its ridiculous. She said they couldn't do anything. As for shooting at someone, my leo friend said shoot to kil, never fire a warning or injury shot(leg,arm, etc...) plus if the poacher just never retrned home who is to say he would ever be found? They still sell shovels last time I checked lol
Just doing it for fun now.
