I was invited down to do a little Sandhill crane hunting. It was a lot of fun, can't wait to do it next year.

Did you go with Dave and Evan? Dave told me he was meeting someone from Colorado at his lease for sandhills and I see you are from there. I have known Dave and Evan for most of my life.

I did go with Dave and Evan. Had a great time with them, awesome folks to hunt with. I'm a bit jealous of Dave's lease. I need to get something in that area for the upcoming year.

I hear they eat well. I'd like to get the op to try some time. See them fly over but have never hunted them.

I work hard, drink a little and hunt when I can.

They were excellent table fare. One bird fed my family of 4, amazing amount of meat. I'm hooked and can't wait to hunt them next season.

I butterflied each half if the breast and cooked it medium rare on the grill. Best tasting bird that I have hunted, and I really enjoy pheasant

Congrats. Back in Nov you wouldn't believe how many of them things were crammed in the San Luis Valley.

I never paid much attention to going down there to hunt them, but I will definitely chasing them this fall.

I don't really know how it works there, but I was amazed at the numbers and with flocks coming in and the Sangre de Cristos in the background it was nothing short of purdy.
