I'm going to use it to heat treat blades. I used 12" pipe and duel burners, I've got some koawool and firebricks ordered.

I also need to find some refractory cement, does anyone know what type is good to use to coat the koawool and where I can get it?








I tried the burners out last night





We closed up the end and got the door built today. I'm going to cut a hole in the door after I get it lined.

How thick koawool did you order? You can buy the hard fire bricks really cheap at Tractor Supply but they don't have the soft ones.

I just ordered 20 pounds of satanite and a pint of ITC-100 to top the satanite with.

I ordered a piece of kaowool that's 1"x24"x10' I was planning on doing it 2" thick maybe more if I have room.

1" is plenty thick. Most forges will actually reach a higher temp with 1" than with 2". You're going to need a digital temp unit with a K thermocouple to monitor the heat if you plan on treating any stainless blades in it.
