Yesterday on my way out the door to the gym; I was watching a news station as I packed my bags for background noise. The first hearing on gun control was within minutes of airing..... I over heard someone say something to the effect of: "There is no reason for regular citizen to own military assault rifles". Well I felt a heat come over my body, I shut the TV off and ran out the door. That comment provided me a good lift for the gym. I began thinking of all the endless, responsible, safe, legal hunts and competitions I have used my Modern Sporting Rifle in. So lets see some pictures of Y'alls. Not a show "off picture"of how neat and cool your modern sporting rifle looks but the safe, legal and practical use of the modern sporting rifle. Yote was taken to help the pheasant population in S.D. One of mine: Wife on her 1st Hog hunt. After a few trips of safe training and practice she was able to harvest her 1st wild hog with no assistance. Proud August Night.

What really kills me are these !bleepin!, supposed journalist/analyst who always ask, "What is the NEED..blah, blah, blah?"
It's the word "need" that bothers me. As an avid gun guy, it's even hard for me to justify need. But then again there is no "need" for me to have a couple beers, no "need" for me to drive my car or use any other petroleum based products, and no "need" for me to get an education either. Since when the heck do we as a society have to justify everything as a "need." We don't exactly "need" 24 hour, leftist news media outlets either but they exist.
Besides, it's never a question of need. It's a question of right. It's up to the individual citizen to excercise that right, not for others to determine whether I need anthing. I'll dtermine that myself. what I do and don't need.
I'm a dude who likes long barrels!

There is a real problem in our language and Politicians have been know to use and abuse it....For instance..Assualt Weapon/Rifle/Gun...A3/03,M1 Garand,M14,M2 Carbine,ect..1911 Colt 45 Auto, ect...How about a single shot 12 guage shotgun, if used to assualt someone, rob, rape, ect..isn't it an assualt weapon..
So if by definition a crime is commited with any gun irregardless of it's mfg. intent..it could be by definition an "Assualt Weapon",,,If any of you trust the folks pushing all this..consider their background and purpose...Don

Redneck. Very true.
However I do have a "Need", not a want or desire but a "Need".
I have a need to relive stress from work and everyday life, So I dont have to go see a Dr about mental health issues.
I have a need to an outlet to discover the outdoors and show someone else the wonders of natures greatness.
I have a need to be proficient with a skill set to know that I can harvest food for my family in a time of "Need".
However I choose to do the above is up to me.
You are right its a choice of a right but I see it as my right to need.....
Now lets see some pictures

Quite honestly, I did not see much need for one until some guy show up for election with a Muslim sounding name. Now I have two.
If you get right down to it, a Dixie cup makes one hell of an assault weapon. Ask any one that has ever been to a family reunion and a beer keg.

I've noticed Walmart has Gotten on board with the whole modern sporting rifle, versus calling it an assault rifle. Which is fairly nice considering a few weeks ago it was in the air of whether not they would sell guns or ammo. Perhaps somebody should remind the politicians while they're deciding what we do and don't need, they do not need to make a lucrative salary for sitting on their butts stripping us of our rights!!!

"What is the NEED..blah, blah, blah?"
I'm old school did my time with the M-16 long ago and needed it as well as a variety of other weapons but shy'ed away from them after I left the military. Why? Because I had no need, for what I was doing and the type of hunting I was doing I just didn't need one. Later in life my needs changed, I went from hide hunting to just getting rid of predators and in some cases multiple predators at one time. I got tired of picking up brass and slinging it all over the cab so I eventually went back to the bolt rifle.Flash forward and my needs changed again when we go hit with an onslaught of hogs on the big ranch so a LR 308 was the answer and it worked perfectly, a sounder of hogs could be diminished rather quickly. But again flying brass and the fact that that's one heavy and cumbersome rifle pushed me back to the bolt rifle. At this point I just don't ever see another hunting situation where I will see the need for me to own another AR based rifle. Now as a personal defense weapon I definitely see the need,.With gangs becoming more and more prominent and forced entries of peoples houses (especially those of my age) more fire power is definitely needed and warranted. While a good hi-cap pistol is a good deterrent to these type crimes a good AR based rifle is even better and the more rounds you have is even better. This ain't Leave it to Beaver or Father knows best those days have long past and the world has changed and so have my needs. My needs are determined by me and I owe no explanation to anybody.
Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

The last time I checked, we don't have to supply a reason for "need" when exercising our rights. Why do I "need" to explain that to my government? To my way of thinking, that's a little thing called "infringement".
That's why it's a right. Those asking the question of "need" either fully understand what they are asking or have no clue about the Constitution.
Same way the "assault rifle" phraseology came about. Verbally make the suggestion enough and it becomes accepted.
It's blatantly clear what they want.

What's ridiculous is the fact that we even have to explain why we "need" an AR. It's really none of your freakin' business why I want or need an AR.

When someone asks you why you "need" it then just respond by saying "Its not a need its a right and you "need" to mind your own buisness".
