Thinking about getting one of these. Unless anyone knows of a softer shooting standard gun for less? I would go with the standard so I could afford it, thinking down the road maybe have it dipped. Does anyone know how much that is?

Can't go wrong with that gun.

If you think you might ever want it camo, get it factory. The aftermarket ones are never quite as good. Cost anywhere from 150-200 to get a gun dipped. There's a long time before next season, should be able to save that up before then.

The Beretta A300 Outlander is less expensive in camo finish. Is it just as good of a choice?

My son shoots the AL390, it's a great gun. Just gotta keep it clean.

A300 is better than 3901. 3901 is discontinued. Just like the a400 took the place of the Extrema 2. Spend the money and get a a300. The newer improved gun is worth the money.

Do you really save money buying from on online gun dealer after shipping, tax and local dealer handling charge?

Like everything out there...it depends. Just run the numbers on it. Personally I like to build a relationship with a local place, even if they don't have it in stock, they can order it for you, and might just cut you a deal.

Bought my SBEII online.....not only was the sales price about $300 less than everyone else....since it was out of state I didn't have to pay tax.....

I shoot an A300/A400 Xtreme. Other than the kickoff, I can't tell a bit of difference. Get an A300!

A300 and a400 are totally different guns. First off one shots 3 1/2s, the a400 is Italian made. Gas system is not the same. Also a400 is coated to prevent rust.

Yep, me too on GunBroker. AGP camo $1200, no tax, + $40 FFL fee. Took me a few months to find one that cheap but I jumped on it when I did.

I was talking about shooting experience, buddy. If you really want to get into a 3 1/2 vs 3 debate, we can add it to the long list already available on the internet.

It is not a totally different gun, Beretta even describes it as a 391/400 hybrid. Have you shot both? Like I said, only difference I noticed in SHOOTING (not design) both of them was kickoff/gas operated recoil reduction.
