There was a police chief that was really pushing on more back ground checks and stricter gun laws. Cruz brought up the fact that the chief was representing a city or area that has the strictest gun laws on the books but homicides were in the range of 15 to 30 incidents per 100,000 people. Cruz then named off a couple of the eastern cities like New York and Chiciago that were in this group also. Then Cruz mentioned that "IN Texas" San Antonio and Houston where the gun laws were less strict only had a 3 to 100,000 raito of homicides. Could have heard a pin drop. So Cruz asked him if more gun laws were what he was advacating then why was it not working already in the cities that already had the strictist gun laws on the books. The police chef's reply was that there are more occurances because the guns are coming from out of state meaning Texas. What a moron!

A logical conclusion would be that the facts show an armed citizenry is paramount to a safer society. One can site facts like the modest rate of deaths attributable to violence involving firearms in places like Texas; An emotional argument made to show how having less guns in the arms of law abiding citizens is keeping places like DC, Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles and NYC safe is without merit but often pushed as gospel. So how are those murder rates in DC, Chicago and Detroit these days? I'll stick with Texas thank you very much. Korea is nothing like Germany, and no amount of Army Modernization propaganda will convince me otherwise. I miss my wife and kids something fierce
