Thinking about buying one.I was just wondering if any of you own one or have heard anything about them. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

I know some people don't like them, but I got one just to hunt the coast and it works fine for me, I'm sure there are some better options out there, but I got a killer deal on mine.

Don't spend more than maybe $125 on one.
Crappy gun, plastic makes it rust worse, gets underneath it and you can't see or clean. Complete flop of a firearm, yet another remington disaster.

I have one and not the greatest investment I made.
I keep it in my truck because I do not have to worry about it rusting but it jams 2 time in 25 and is just awkward...
I have the Combo that has the hunting and defense barrel as a set...

Not no but hell no. The slide release button gets stuck so the pump will not lock and it doesn't eject or load a new shell. Firing pin doesn't strike the primer. Just about every problem you could possibly have this gun has it. Worked during dove season last year the first day and after that I never shot more than maybe 5 or 10 shells without a malfunction. You have to completely clean every speck of dust out of it for it to work. And then it still messes up after your first couple shots. I would highly reccomend not to get one.

I bought an 1100 at a pawn shop before teal season this year for 300 bucks and shot a little over a case of shells and never had one malfunction. There are a lot better guns out there for less money. If you want a pump for the same price get a nova.

I am about to get off the Remy bandwagon myself. They have been spending too much money defending flawed weapons and not enough on innovation. Few years ago they got caught stealing patents from Italian over/under company, will never fess up to old 700 trigger flaw (mine fired as a buddy was inserting a shell to the chamber a couple months ago....until then, I thought it was bs too), the latest pumps are crap, the versamax has flaws.....
Get an ald 870 or stevens for $100 or less, spend the money on a nova or if you go auto, get a good one (Benelli, beretta, browning or older 1100/1187 remington)

887 is about as unreliable as a shotgun gets.

Just bought a SXP Waterfowl and love it!!!!! If you go this route make sure and check out youtube on it. The pump action is inertia driven and takes some getting used to. When you fire, the gun starts the pump action for you. Great reviews and a good price for the Waterfowl Version.

Well guys Thank you for the input!!!! I am for sure not going to get one now!! The only reason I was considering it is because I hunt on the coast primarily and I have a blk 870 synthetic so it rusts alot. Im bad about just throwing it in the truck and leaving it there. I read some reviews online and heard similar stories just didnt know how reliable they were.Guess they were right on! lol!

I have an 887 and so does a good friend of mine. I have never had a problem with it and as far as I know he has not either. I guess we are the lucky ones after reading this thread.

I have had mine since the 1st week the stores had them almost 5 years ago..Never have had a single problem out of the gun. The functioning of a gun can be easily messed up with by the clueless person cleaning or doin whatever with the gun. I just took it apart after duck season for the first time to take a look. No rusting what so ever and this gun has been dropped in the mud, water, and sand. Any gun can mess up. Ive put so many different loads in the gun and always performed well. I also have two buddies who I hunt with the 887 also...again no problems with theirs either.

My Nova jammed more than any gun i've ever owned. Another guy on my lease had the same problems. I sold it at a gun show and bought an 887 that i've never had a problem with.
