I installed a YHM clamp on gas block with blue loc tite and in about a week it had rust around the block and the roll pin, the barrel was oiled and then shot. Did the loctite cause this? I removed all that I could see. Should I remove the gas block? Thanks ahead of time

How about just spray paint it with high temp engine enamel and call it good.

Its an AR, not a fine Parker shotgun.

Funny, I just had that same exact thought.

This is true , just worried about what I can't see. I'm not worried about the looks , I don't want any pitting on the barrel though. I can't figure out what caused it but the paint is a good idea , thanks

And I have a pretty good grasp on the grade of weapon I have. Army Infantry, Fox Trp 1/11 ACR , Operation Iraqi Freedom III , Sadr City.

Pull it off and check under if its bugging you. I'd just hit it with the rattle can if it were one of mine.
