Not a good list to be in. Need to change that and get Texas into the majority on this list.
I know some of the open carry laws have crazy provisions though in some of the states that allow it.

I wouldn't mind having the option, but I would prefer to cc, I'd rather people not know when I am carrying.

Would not carry often but would be nice at times when out working at the lease to not have to keep taking the pistol off and on when run in for lunch or supplies etc.

Agreed, TX needs to get on board. Hopefully this will change in the next couple of years. I for one would not open carry often. It draws to much attention. It would be nice for hiking, fishing, etc.

On the ranch, weapons are always openly carried. In town, I strongly prefer concealed so I'm not the first target selected by some wackjob looking for fame. If I am forced to use a gun, I would much prefer that the bad guy first realize that I have a gun when the first round hits him, and not one second before that.
Please note that I didn't say that I can't see a reason for open carry law. I strongly believe in having the right to do so!

I guess having the option for open carry would benefit me some how....although im not sure how.
I have been places where they allow it....and the only people I saw walking around with open carry were the exact people who appeared to have no business with a gun.

I wouldn't mind having the option, but I would prefer to cc, I'd rather people not know when I am carrying. That's how I look at it. Texas is one of the best states in which to live if you like hunting/shooting/fishing/owning and enjoying firearms/defending yourself, etc. etc. regardless of what categories we share with California and New York. I would still CC if I were permitted to OC.

I think I should be able to carry a gun anytime and anywhere I want, whether concealed or out in the open. Shouldn't have to have a license to do so either.
I probably never would open carry, but that right should not be suppressed.
Once you start putting ANY type of stipulations on things like this, you are no better than the gun grabbers.

Moving from Wa to Tx was a shock to find out I could not open carry. I was so use to having a pistol on my side and just stopping by a store and not even thinking about it on my side it was just a normal part of my everyday.

I like the open carry idea just for the fact I'm not worrying about my pistol showing through my shirt. I'd carry, I guess you could call, semi open. Regular belt slide holster with just a big tshirt on for cover.

I'm the opposite...I don't open carry often now...always have a jacket or coat on here,...but here I don't have to eat with either on. A lot more comfortable. Shane

Wish everyone would carry and then I would not have to worry about it, durn pistols are heavy and cleaning them is just another chore plus all the expense of a license and the gun. Box cutter only cost me $3.48 and I got three extra razor-sharp blades. You get within 21 ft of me and well, you've seen what happens to cardboard.

I'd rather people not know when I am carrying. ^ This. Why would I want someone to know I have a pistol? Open carry is great around the deer lease or your private property. If I'm out on the town in the city, I keep concealed. And after seeing some people shoot (or not shoot!), I strongly recommend CC training and qualification. I don't want some guy who thought it would be cool to own a 17 round Glock 9mm carrying a pistol who doesn't know how to hit a target. Trust me, they are out there. They no nothing about how to use a pistol or the functionality of it. If you want to have the ability to carry concealed, no problem. Learn how to shoot and understand the laws, first.

^^^ Agree with carrying Glock 17 and not being able to hit, some work in LE.
