It's been awhile since I've personally owned one and I didn't have any major problems with it that I can recall. Is there some things different or substandard in the new model glocks? just curious. Also, the XD that I had was the first model, I've never fired the XDM, the main difference that I noticed is that the newer one came with different grip options that I wouldn't need because the stock model feels right to me. Anything else that anyone can comment on? I could probably pull up the specs, but I'd rather hear from field experience that specs on a mfg. website.

Thanks,

One difference: the XDS has a better trigger than the XD or XDM. To me, it's just right for a concealed carry gun.

As for the differences between XD and XDM, upshot seems to be a lot of minor differences. Here's an informative link:

I have an XD40 subcompact and like it. I do have a Glock 35 (.40 w/ a long match barrel) and it is much better than the XD. I attribute the difference to the length and grade of barrel so it's really not a fair comparison. The XD wins the CCW contest tho, hands down.

I love my xd-s. Had it about 2 months. Been looking for the perfect ccw gun for years and have tried many. This is by far my favorite. Bought a foxx iwb holster and is super comfortable. I have run close to 500 rounds through it without an issue. 230 ball, 230/185 gold dot and 230/185 xtp all shot great. Recoil is not bad at all, accurate, good trigger with short reset. You wont regret the purchase!

Also have one. Great gun. Good shooter, reliable, accurate, comfortable to carry.

I looked at an XDs and did not buy. If there would be any chance for your wife to use it make sure she can rack the slide. The XDs is tough for some women to properly operate with total confidence.

I have a sub-compact 9mm XD. I've never had any issues with it. I'll never sell it!

If you want some friendly advice, get a haircut and take a bath. You wouldn't get hassled so much.

Usually about $550-600 for the black and $30-60 more for the 2-tone. Palmetto State had them as low as $500 on sale a couple months ago, but I haven't seen anything that cheap since.
Academy has them for $530 and $590 but you have to be lucky to find one in stock.
