To me this seems a little biased! I know we live in somewhat of a bubble in Texas, but can this possibly be the thought process of the majority of Americans? It's actually very un-american!

I always look at whose poll it is.

Before you EVER believe a poll...you gotta know the background...like...

Who did the poll and where do they receive funding/resources
You must know the question design
You must know the sampling techniques
Sample size
Analysis techniques
Response types/phrasology
etc etc etc...

Obama's re-election was the result of 3+million republican voters staying home on election day. Poor communication and a moderate candidate = GOP loss.

I don't give a rat's behind about ANY polls on this issue one way or another. I don't care what anybody thinks about whether or not I should have any of the guns they're talking about banning.

If they want them. Come take them. Bring body bags.

This is the attitude and talk that make most people favor some type of control.

I agree, tough man talk on the internet will not help our cause. Let's be smart about this, the way to really help is to make sure your congress person votes no on any gun ban proposals.

It could be taken as a threat to a government official.

I think a 41% unfavorable in an ABC poll actually tells the true story.

If one of the purposes of the 2nd amendment was to combat tyranny, why should we restrict ourselves in the manner these bills are presented? Do these folks not understand the reason we have the 2nd amendment? We are supposed to use these weapons in the event of tyranny. Against whatever forces they may in place.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist. I'm not saying our President's goal is to become a tyrant, but where would one want to start - gun control and term limit elimination. Hmmm, both Bills are being presented pretty much simultaneously. Just saying...

The problem with these polls is that they probably only polled about a 1000 people and worked up the percentage. 950 of em were more than likely Democrats. Can not put much faith in polls anymore as stated earlier.

I only believe polls that I agree with.

Nobody is suggesting they will turn anything in, get a hold of yourself, we are all in the same boat.

Evidently, some people can't read the writing on the wall. One day they'll wake up slaves and wonder what happened. And what most of the folks who encourage "moderation" in our tone don't understand is.....the gun-grabbers don't care how nice we are.

Ask yourself....What has all this being polite, hat-in-hand, "Please don't take my guns" approach gotten us? Take a nice long look and ask yourself if you are more or less free than you were 10 years ago...and for those old enough to remember back that far..30 years ago.

My question to those who quietly acquiesce to the tyranny that is slowly supplanting our freedom is...."Do you have a line in the sand at all? At what point, if any, will you stand up and say "No?""

Yup, and that is how they'll accomplish it. There will be no door to door confiscation, it'll be well publicized "examples" by a willing media that will "encourage" folks to show up at the appointed place at the appointed time. They'll most probably sweeten the deal by using our tax dollars for some sort of incentive or "buy back" as well, paying pennies on the dollar but costing taxpayers millions.

I think they will force people to have liability insurance on their guns(and raise the price yearly)....that way they can do it through the commerce clause just like the ObamaCare

They set the tone in Waco for noncompliance. These days that wouldn't happen. Some kid on a laptop would drone-strike your house and the media would already have been handed a story about your ties to this or that terrorist group.

You can't have "gun control" without "control". The stage is set and there's not a single thing anybody can do to stop it. Go ahead and stand up for yourself. You won't have any cold dead hands left to pry anything from.

I'm against all this gun control bs, but realistic about the outcome.
