I agree with the weather, but I think we won't hunt it again. It seems to be conflict of interest for the "Host" to hunt in the contest. Ontop of that, the communication and organization of the hunt was a joke compared to the other hunts in the area. My team shot a lot and did well, but the professionalism was lacking in this contest.

I host my hunt for 13 years and hunt in it with no problem . But i have the local game warden supervise the polygraph and weigh in and i think that helps a bunch .

I don't think I have ever hunted a contest that the host didn't hunt. What were the names of the guys in the top 3?

It was unprofessional at check-in. Pay your money, sign a sheet, and if you want grab a rule sheet!!! There was no thank you for coming and joining in!! No names of hosts!! etc. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. No cards...etc for killing animals earlier in the hunt...nothing. Host were last to get to sign in, if not late. I dont care if hosts hunt, I think its a great deal. But make the hunt professional!!!!! Give out kill mouth cards, thank your hunters for showing up. I was there and still waiting my thank you!! Hosts need to serious improve setup and attitude, mainly for the simple reason if your going to compete. I think its great you put it on and attended the hunt, even better that you won.....good JOB!! But this hunt needs serious attention to continue and keep you out of future lawsuit arenas. It was just above a teenage boy and his girlfriend putting this together. Needs SERIOUS improvement on behalf of TEXAS hunters. This is not to upset anyone, but be constructive. I was there, very unprofessional.

A Polygraph would have finished a professionally ran hunt. This started out unprofessional. I'm (by no reason or issue) saying the winners of this contest did not win. I,m saying run it with professionallism. One that makes other TEXANS proud and want to be a part of. All bases covered (I dotted, T crossed)!! Again, I think its great and would want the host to compete. Its a passion, its a predator hunt. Why else would you host? A passion of the sport. What a better competitor than one with passion of the sport. And out of 32 teams (great turn out), why would I think of being a sore loser. My team had every issue possible to come in dead last, probably did? LOL. My view is only constructive and MY 2 cents. Im known on here, and you can sure check posts out on treating hunts and fellow hunters fair and honest. Be professional

First of all i would like to thank you shorthair for attending the hunt, i guess you didnt make it to weigh in where we personally stood in front of everyone and thanked them for coming out. Yes check in was a little crazy due to having 60 men huddled in a tiny room, in the future we will need to be more prepared for that. Gander mountain has allowed me to host that tournament in their lodge so that is where we have for now. Hopefully one day we can relocate to a better accompany that many people. Marvin from the Amarillo Police Department came out and did our polygraph this year as well as last year. I guess i didnt think about having someone sit in on the polygraph, i figured the man from APD was trustworthy. I appreciate the suggestions to make our hunt better, each of them will be taken into consideration. I have yet to meet a person that had issues with the way the tournament was ran, but i guess there are always going to be things to work on. The game warden was at weigh in, we weighed each of the animals right off the back of my pickup for everyone to see, i think that is the correct way to do that. I just have a passion for predator hunting, so i in no way want to run this contest in a way that makes people not want to show back up. I will not however apologize for winning. I put this contest on for that very reason, and if i were pulling any money out of the pot for myself or any foundation that i am a part of then i would not be hunting in it. The only money that came out was for the polygraph. I dont put this on so i can watch people shoot coyotes. Im there to win money and meet new people. I beleive the same would be said from clay reid who has been putting on hunts for years. Hes not putting it on just to meet people, he wants some of that money. So thank you shorthair for your thoughts. I will try to do better in the future. I will not however be doing kill cards. That is what the polygraph is for.

So with all that said we will be having a 2nd tourney this year March 9-10 due to the great number of people calling and wanting another one put on. I will do my best to continue to learn and run our tournament with professionalism.

Thank you, Dee Bichsel
