Cool old gun in this picture, it is estimated to be 113 years old, handed down to Ryan(moderator Guy son) from his great grandpa or something? The boy was dying to kill something, unfortunately we did not connect, next time!

Savage introduced the model 99 in .308 in 1955, and produced them until 1984. So the gun could be anywhere from 29 to 57 years old. Nice family heirloom. I've got one more than 60 years old I still break out and hunt with at least once a year.

To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first and call whatever you hit the target.

Heck I am not sure what caliber or make it was? All I know is it one excited young man, who got an old family gun that he is pretty sure was built in 1899.

Guy said he would post on this later!

It's a 300 Savage. On the barrel it says "Savage Arms Corporation" . Here is another pic..

The gun has been passed down, the gun has hardly been shot, my family never much of hunters. The scope was put on it in the 70's, not sure how old it is, my Granddad passed it on to my Dad, and he passed on to me. I never really shot it I'm just hunt birds with shotguns. Thanks for taking him out to shoot it Stub!!
